You Should Know

These are some things you should probably know about me...

When I'm splurging on calories I go for Dr. Pepper and Sour Patch Watermelons.

I love the smell of clean laundry.

I keep things bottled up. When I am stressed or overwhelmed I keep it all inside. I'm not good at venting. I just need time and I'll be ok.

I am the queen of procrastination.

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday.
My birthday is second place (only 36 days!)

I am terrible at making decisions.
I brush my teeth at least 4 times a day.
I love Batman. But the Spiderman fruit snacks are my favorite.

I probably could cook, I just choose not to.

I'm kind of obsessed with the History Channel.

I don't care how much money I make or anything like that, I just want to be happy and do something I love.

I love Grey's Anatomy and Glee.

If I married a celebrity, it would be Matthew Morrison or McDreamy

I still have my blanket and teddy bear from when I was a baby, and yes, I still sleep with them.

I need music or some sort of noise to sleep.

I think steak and mashed potatoes are my favorite food.

When I run, I don't think about anything.

I wish I had more time to just read or play the piano.

I'm all about learning from trials and mistakes.

15

My friend Jon did this and I thought it was a cool idea, so I decided to give it a shot...

The rules: Don't take too long to think about it - choose fifteen albums you've heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. (These aren't favorite albums, necessarily, just the fifteen that will always stick with you.)

Cartel- Chroma
Yellowcard- Ocean Avenue
Brad Paisley- American Saturday Night/5th Gear
Rascal Flatts- Feel's Like Today
Blink-182- Blink-182
Jimmy Eat World- Bleed American
Journey- Greatest Hits
Lady Antebellum- Lady Antebellum
Carole King & James Taylor- Live at the Troubador
Angels & Airwaves- We Don't Need to Whisper
Moulin Rouge soundtrack
Dashboard Confessional- Swiss Army Romance
Keith Urban- Be Here/Defying GravityBilly Joel- The Essential Billy JoelDoobie Brothers- Best of the Doobies

All great albums... They all have memories associated with them, mostly good ones. I've heard a lot of the songs live which made me love them even more. :)

Positivity

Alright, enough of this Negative Nancy/Debbie Downer crap.

I love
my campus.
It's beautiful.

I love
this sudden rainstorm.

I love
knowing people.
I can't walk anywhere without saying hi to someone.
It makes me feel good.

I love
the Dr. Pepper and Sour Patch Watermelons in my hand.

I love
that he cares about me and just wants me to be happy.

I love
the Aggies.
And football season.

I love
learning HTML/CSS.
Even though I feel like a super-nerd.

I love
watching Friends while I do homework.

I love
country dancing.

I love
running at the Fieldhouse.
I don't have to think about anything.
I just run.

I love
when just the right song comes up on my iPod.

I love
institute.

There. Much better.
Now I just need to feel much better.

Hate.

Yes, I know hate is a strong word... But here are some things I'm kind of hating right now...

I hate
that my one professor is not at all sympathetic.
No where in the course description did it say how much outside of class work would be involved.
We have to cover one of the cities in the valley. City council meetings, festivals, etc.
Sounds fun right?
Well when you are already super busy in the evenings...
And when you don't have a car, or people willing to relinquish their car for two evenings a month...
It makes it a lot less fun.
And we have field trips.
Lots of them.
During class time.
Guess what, lady? We all have class right after yours...
And she doesn't seem to understand the predicament.

I hate
that this whole relationship thing terrifies me.
I'm new at this.
I don't know what I'm doing.
I go in phases.
All the time.
I think it's going too fast.
But it's fun.
We have a good time.
I love being able to say "yes, I'm dating someone."
At the same time, being completely committed to one person kind of makes me anxious.
But maybe because it's still so new?
Dad says to be patient.
It will all work out.

I hate
that I never see my best friend anymore.
We don't live in the same house.
We're both super busy.
We both have boys.
There are times I have things to tell her, but texting won't do it justice.
But by the time I see her, it's irrelevant or I've forgotten what it was.

I hate
that I don't have cable.
It's not like I'm home that often, but I miss Sports Center and football games.
And all my shows that will be starting back up in the next couple of weeks.

I hate
that I hate all of this.

I hate
that I'm already so stressed out.

I'm hoping this is just one of those Monday kind of moods... The gym usually makes me feel better, at least clears my mind. I think I'll go there now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hydration.

The other day I finally broke down and bought one of these babies.

I have this weird thing for water bottles. I love getting new ones. And I've wanted this spout/straw kind forever and they were finally WAY on sale at Al's. 8 bucks for this!!

It's funny though, this bottle makes me drink so much more water! I've always been good at drinking a lot, usually going through two 32-ounce bottles a day. This one is only 25 ounces, but I've been drinking four or five of them every day! At first I thought it was just me and it wasn't anything different, but then today one of my friends said she got one and had noticed the same thing! I'm not sure what it is... I guess it just takes that much less effort to drink that makes it easier and gives more motivation? Not exactly sure...

But anyway.
The moral of the story is that I love this bottle.

Fear Itself

Fear is a funny thing.
I'm not someone who is often afraid, but the last few days have given me quite a few things to think and worry about.

They changed our ward boundaries up again.
Anyone who knows me knows I love the 47th ward.
It's more than a ward, it's a family.
Well we're back in the old ward that we did not love.
That terrifies me.

Tonight I went in for the typical "Get to know you interview" with the bishop.
It turned into one of those get a calling kind of meetings.
It's something I'm very unfamiliar with.
Very new territory.
It terrifies me.

And then there's the boy...
Things are going very well, don't you worry.
It's just still very new to me.
But I love it.
It scares me, but it's a good kind of fear :)

"We gain strength and courage, and confidence by each experience
in which we really stop to look fear in the face.
We must do that which we think we cannot."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

"Courage is not the absence of fear,
but rather the judgment that
something else is more important than fear."
-Ambrose Redmoon
